Terms of Service
Effective October 23, 2026 · Version 2026-10-23
1. Service and operator
Scholar Monster is operated by Goyo Drive. It provides private paper projects, collaborative LaTeX editing, compilation, references, version history, and authorized AI-tool access through MCP. Contact support@scholarmonster.com for service, account, or privacy questions.
2. Accounts and agreement
You must agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy before using the service. Provide accurate account details, verify your email when requested, and protect your password, sessions, and MCP tokens. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Do not share an account or impersonate another person.
You must have the legal capacity to enter this agreement. If you use the service for an organization, you must be authorized to do so.
3. Your papers and collaboration
You retain ownership of your manuscripts and other content. You grant Goyo Drive permission to store, process, compile, and display that content as necessary to provide the service and maintain its security. Upload only content that you may legally use and share.
Project owners control invitations and member roles. Invited collaborators may access project content according to their role. A project owner can approve and merge proposed changes. Before deleting your account, transfer projects that have other members or remove those members yourself. Shared manuscript contributions, comments, and immutable Git author information may remain in the project history after your account is deleted.
4. AI tools and edit labels
An MCP token gives an external tool access within the permissions you grant. Keep tokens private and revoke them when no longer needed. Scholar Monster does not itself guarantee the accuracy, originality, or publication suitability of AI-generated changes. Review proposed changes before merging.
If a project member explicitly opts in to writing-style examples, selected before-and-after manuscript passages can be retained within that project as examples of their revisions. Authorized MCP tools can request those examples to follow the project’s writing style. This is not permission to use private papers for a global training dataset. Members can withdraw permission and delete their examples.
Edit labels describe the recorded source and available evidence. MCP edits are labeled as AI-tool edits. Web edits may be marked as likely human, unclassified, or declared AI-assisted. Timing-based labels are estimates and do not prove whether text was written by a person.
5. Acceptable use
Do not upload unlawful content, infringe intellectual-property rights, expose another person’s confidential information without permission, attack the service, bypass access controls, or use the service to distribute malware. Resource limits protect compilation and storage availability. Goyo Drive may suspend access when needed to investigate abuse or protect users and will provide a contact path through support@scholarmonster.com.
6. Availability and responsibility
The service may be interrupted for maintenance, failures, or security reasons. Keep independent backups of important papers. Compilation results and editing tools are provided without a promise of uninterrupted operation or acceptance by a conference or journal.
To the extent allowed by applicable law, Goyo Drive is not responsible for indirect losses arising from use of the service. These Terms do not exclude rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Account deletion and changes
You can delete your account from Account settings after verifying your identity. Your sign-in credentials, active sessions, and MCP tokens are removed or revoked; your private reference library is deleted; projects owned only by you become inaccessible. Content-addressed files, project history, and backups may remain in storage pending maintenance. Contact support@scholarmonster.com for a data-erasure request.
Material changes to these Terms or the Privacy Policy will require your renewed agreement before continued use. No marketing consent is included in acceptance of these documents.
8. Applicable law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. For questions or disputes, contact support@scholarmonster.com. Mandatory legal jurisdiction rules take precedence.
